Calling All Poets of the North-East of India!

Are you a poet from the Indian States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, or Tripura?

If you are, and if you write poems in English (or, if there are English translations of your poems from North-Eastern languages), here is news that might interest you.

An anthology of contemporary poetry of the North-East India, reflecting its distinctive ethos and sensitivities, is proposed to be published in the United States in both e-book and print formats.

While you, the poet, will retain the copyright of your own poems, the anthology itself will be copyrighted in the US with Library of Congress and the copyright of the collection will be retained by AA Books.

The e-book and print editions will have ISBN numbers of the US firm.

The anthology will be published as a cooperative effort with the publishing costs shared by the poets.

Poems will need to be of a very high standard in terms of language and content to be selected for inclusion in the anthology. On an average two poems from each poet is expected to be chosen, with a maximum of three in the case of exceptional quality. If a minimum of one hundred poems are not reached, the project will be scuttled.

If you would like your poems to be considered, please email five of your best poems to the email address below confirming the entries to be your own original work over which you hold the copyright.

All entries will be acknowledged. If your poems are selected for inclusion in the anthology, you will be informed of the next steps by email.

Submissions will be received at aa-books@outlook.com till the deadline of midnight (Eastern Time) October 31, 2017.

The target publishing date is December 20, 2017.
